Chris Young's "The Man I Want to Be" Becomes His Second No. 1 Single

Chris Young's "The Man I Want to Be" has emerged as the new No. 1 song on Billboard's country chart. It dislodges Joe Nichols' "Gimmie That Girl," which held the peak for the past two weeks.


Young's song completed its climb in 26 weeks. His first No. 1 single, "Gettin' You Home (The Black Dress Song)," topped the chart in October.

Meanwhile, someone has obviously forgotten to tell Lady Antebellum the record business is in the dumpster. They keep selling albums like it's 1990. Last week, according to Nielsen SoundScan, Lady A sold more than 97,000 copies of its current CD, Need You Now, a jump of nearly 25,000 over the week before. This is the 15th straight week it has topped Billboard's country albums chart.

The Zac Brown Band roars in with the highest debuting album, bowing in at No. 2 with Pass the Jar: Live From the Fabulous Fox Theatre in Atlanta.

Chely Wright's Lifted Off the Ground is the week's only other new album. Buoyed by Wright's "coming out" media blitz, it enters at No. 32 with sales of just under 3,400 units.

There is but one new single to report. Randy Houser's "I'm All About It" bubbles up at No. 58.

Two albums return to the chart this week: Randy Travis' Three Wooden Crosses: The Inspirational Hits of Randy Travis (at No. 73) and Willie Nelson's American Classic (No. 75).

The Zac Brown Band's The Foundation, Miranda Lambert's Revolution and Carrie Underwood's Play On round out the Top 5 albums in that order.

The No. 3 through No. 5 songs are Kenny Chesney's "Ain't Back Yet," Lady Antebellum's "American Honey" and Lambert's "The House That Made Me."
